Yarrctopus is a mini-boss who appears in Yoshi's Crafted World. He is fought in Yarrctopus Docks at the end of the level Pirate Pier. He is a pirate octopus made out of craft materials. Due to Yarrctopus only being a mini-boss, defeating him will not recover a Dream Gem. His name comes from 'yarr' (a pirate's shout) and 'octopus'. Once Yoshi makes it to the end of Pirate Pier, Kamek will appear with Baby Bowser, refusing to let Yoshi travel any farther. Using his magic, he repairs a pirate ship in the background and transforms one of its cannons into Yarrctopus, who must be defeated. During his battle, Yarrctopus will remain on the pirate ship, hiding behind three different walls. After a moment, one of the walls will fall over, fully revealing Yarrctopus, who will then try to shoot a spike ball at Yoshi. If successful, Yoshi will take damage. If Yoshi is able to hit Yarrctopus with an egg before the wall goes up, however, Yarrctopus will be launched into the sea and return, angrier than before. As Yarrctopus becomes angrier, he will launch more spike balls at Yoshi each time he appears. Rocks which appear in the water will also obscure Yarrctopus, preventing Yoshi from being able to hit him at certain times. After Yarrctopus is hit with an egg three times, he will once again be launched into the ocean, where he will remain. After his defeat, the level is completed, and Yoshi can advance to Go-Go Land. Many Fish in the Sea is the second level of Yoshi's Crafted World, and the first level of Yarrctopus Docks. One Smiley Flower is required to play this level.
Overview[edit]Front Side[edit]The level begins with a moving fish-shaped platform, along with two Koopa Troopas. Two more moving fish-shaped platforms follow along with a few Shy Guys and a Fly Guy. Three posts along with a Koopa Troopa follow, along with some more moving fish-shaped platforms and several more Shy Guys. A swaying clownfish platform then appears, followed by a descending fish-shaped platform where Yoshi can spit a Koopa Troopa shell to take out many others in a manner akin to World 2-2 from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The Checkpoint Bell follows, along with another swaying clownfish platform. The next room features more moving fish-shaped platforms and some hazardous porcupinefish balloons, along with more Koopa Troopas, Shy Guys, and posts. The following room features a Koopa Troopa that can be thrown to take out other enemies. The second Checkpoint Bell immediately follows, along with a row of moving fish-shaped platforms under some porcupinefish balloons. The next area features a large pier-like structure, where Yoshi must enter a gold-plated door over to the right, then travel up a ramp in the background to continue across the top of the structure. The final area features some additional swaying clownfish platforms, which lead directly to the goal. Flip Side[edit]The blue Poochy Pup greets Yoshi on the roof of the pier-like structure. It then runs and jumps to the bottom, landing on a turtle-shaped cup. The black Poochy Pup is located in the same place as the third Smiley Flower, in the spot with the breakable blocks. It can be reached by tossing a Koopa Shell to break the blocks. The pink Poochy Pup is located at the bottom of the second last set of fish-shaped platforms. Collectibles[edit]Smiley Flowers[edit]
Three more Smiley Flowers are awarded for collecting at least 100 coins in the level, completing the level with 20 hearts, and collecting all 20 Red Coins. Crafts[edit]Found on the front side:
