Yoshi's Crafted World Koopa Troopa

Author has written 5 stories for Mario, and iCarly.

Howdy. As you can tell from my username, I'm a huge fan of the Mario series, and my favorite characters are Koopa Troopa and Yoshi. So, expect my fanfics to be focused heavily on Yoshi and Koopa. I'm also a huge fan of the Mario Kart series, so if you own a Nintendo 3DS, a Mario Kart 7 game and play regularly online, you can probably find me there. That's about it for personal information.

Yoshi's crafted world poochy's tape trail. Poochys Tape Trail’s gameplay centers on the fact that Yoshi can walk into or toss an egg at this rolled up tape and unravel it to reveal a trail. Start by walking to the right and you’ll unravel.

  2. This aquarium type level introduces Koopa Troopas and the Ground Pound move. This enemy cannot be eaten and turned into an Egg. However, you can put the Koopa Troopa into your mouth and then spit out the shell, which will then move back and forth. You can kill the Koopa Troopa by ground pounding it. Jumping and then moving the joystick downwards.

One thing you must know about me, though, is that I wholeheartedly believe there is a specific character named 'Koopa Troopa', of whom I'm a huge fan. This Koopa Troopa character is the one with the Green Shell and green boots that appears as a playable character in many Mario spinoffs such as Mario Party 9, Mario Kart Wii and 7 etc. He just happens to be named after his species, just like with Yoshi and Toad -- we have the Yoshis and the Yoshi character; similarly, we have the Koopas and we have the Koopa Troopa.

Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't seem to care too much for Koopa's state as a separate character.. for example, many of Koopa Troopa's bios and official descriptions, mainly the one from Mario Party 9, seem to consistently refer to him as an enemy and Bowser's trooper. Well, if he really is an enemy, then why would he help Mario and his friends recover the Mini Stars and defeat Bowser in Mario Party 9? They could have included Koopa as one of Bowser's cronies, much like Shy Guy and Kamek/Magikoopa, but they didn't. Additionally, I've also tried sending an e-mail to Nintendo, asking if Koopa Troopa is a separate character who just happens to be named after his species. Their answer? A major Shrug of God: there's not an answer; they said it might be revealed in a future game. Even though it's rather obvious that Koopa Troopa is a separate character, it's technically unconfirmed as of now.

Since Koopa's role as a character is ambiguous and not explored much in the series, I have my headcanons about Koopa. I'm planning on publishing a story about Koopa Troopa's history throughout the series, detailing how he met the Mario crew, his personality, his goals, and everything Koopa Troopa, from his debut in Super Mario Kart until now. I can reveal a little bit about his personality, though. Koopa Troopa is a timid, not very social tortoise who prefers to live alone on the beach. Koopa's best friend is Yoshi, and they first met before the events of Super Mario Kart, when Yoshi found Koopa Troopa sleeping on his back, and BAM, they became friends.

History[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[edit]

When Blue Yoshi and Baby Mario reach the bridge on which Hookbill is fought, a fog envelops the area, dissipating on the other side. Blue Yoshi and Baby Mario then encounter a normal Koopa Troopa and Kamek, who casts his magic on the Koopa. The Koopa Troopa retreats into his shell, which grows. Mario maker 2 vs yoshi crafted world.

After the transformation is complete, Hookbill re-emerges from his shell. Walking on all fours, he creeps towards Blue Yoshi to attack him and Baby Mario. After walking on all fours for some time, he stands up and runs in Blue Yoshi's direction and lunges at the dinosaur. Blue Yoshi then must dodge the attack in order to avoid getting hurt. To defeat Hookbill, Blue Yoshi must first throw Yoshi Eggs at his head or arms. Jumping on Hookbill's shell or head will cause Hookbill to cough up eggs for Blue Yoshi to use in case his supply gets depleted. After four hits while on all fours or after three hits while on two legs, Hookbill will fall backwards and will be briefly vulnerable to attack. Blue Yoshi must jump on and then ground pound Hookbill's exposed stomach, delivering damage to Hookbill. After this (or after a certain amount of time passes), Hookbill will recover, retreat into his shell, and begin pounding the ground. He will then re-emerge, and the process will have to be repeated. Once his stomach has been pounded three times, Hookbill is defeated. His shell explodes and disappears, and Hookbill (with no shell) falls from the top of the castle.

Tetris Attack[edit]

Hookbill the Koopa reappears in Tetris Attack as one of Bowser's allies in the game and speaks with a stutter. Here, he takes Phoenix's place of the original Panel de Pon at Stage 9, and unlike other characters, Hookbill does not have a personal ally of his own.

Yoshi's Island DS[edit]

During the introduction to Yoshi's Island DS, Hookbill the Koopa makes an appearance alongside the other castle bosses in the game as the events of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island are recapped.
